trauma

Psychological trauma can affect your life for many years after the event or situation that caused it. Through therapy, you can work to overcome the distress, pain, and dysfunction that may have developed after a traumatic experience. The goal is not to forget or compartmentalize, but to integrate the trauma in order to understand its impact and achieve a life of safety and stability. I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and Cognitive Processing Therapy to p trauma processing. Learn more about EMDR.

anxiety

While anxiety is a common experience for many, feeling constantly overwhelmed by everyday life is not. Anxiety can manifest in many different ways and may inhibit daily life. Through therapy, we will explore the root of your anxieties and cultivate new patterns of thinking and coping skills to enable you to live a fuller life.

EATING DISORDERS/DISORDERED EATING

People with disordered eating often struggle with underlying issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, trauma, and more. Together, we will explore how your eating disorder serves you while developing alternative coping skills. Informed by Health At Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating, we will challenge your relationship with food and your body as we work towards recovery, because you deserve a life free from your eating disorder. Eating disorders often require a multidisciplinary team to address every complex facet. I am able to collaborate with dietitians, medical doctors, and psychiatrists to ensure holistic care in your recovery.

womXn’s issues

Modern womxn are often subjected to expectations that can be overwhelming. Whether you are a young professional, struggling with intimate relationships, or transitioning into a new role as a partner or parent, the narratives we have ingrained from a young age may no longer be reflective of your desires or trajectory. Together we can reevaluate what fits and what no longer serves you in the formation of your identity as a womxn.

My lived experience with endometriosis and PCOS give me an intimate understanding of the struggles and pain that come along with these diagnoses, including the impact on your mental health. I am committed to giving you a therapeutic space to be heard and meeting you with deep compassion.
